Daniil Medvedev continued his US Open run with another victory in straight sets and following the victory he spoke to the media.

Medvedev produced a solid display against O'Connell defeating him in straight sets 6-3 6-2 6-4. The Russian had plenty to be happy about as he is yet to drop a set or a service game in the tournament. Speaking on the match he said:
"The biggest positive is that I won in three sets. Late match, so I didn't want to finish too late. Great level [and] he's not an easy opponent... I'm happy with my perfomance to go through."
Medvedev was very focused through the match not allowing anything to sway him off his goal. The match was stopped briefly to close the roof because of rain but not even that messed with Medvedev. He closed out the match in great fashion as he wanted to finish early because it was a late match. When asked about his next opponent the Russian didn't give away much saying he will focus mainly on himself.
