Often for many, the WTA Tour due to its unpredictable nature is much harder to call and has never included players' fully dominating it. But since the emergence of
Aryna Sabalenka and
Elena Rybakina, the Big Three alongside
Iga Swiatek has been coined.
Leif Shiras, a well known commentator believes that there is a WTA Big Three. But with the caveat that the women's game is still very much wide open.
He cited that in his eyes there is potential for other players who are stars themselves including Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur to find themselves tagged onto the initial three and find their spot firmly in the mix.
"I think there is something of a 'Big 3' in the women's game," Shiras said. "Yeah, I think you have to respect Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, but I do feel that the women's game is open."
"It's wide open and there's potential," he continued. "I think for Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur, all these players, they're all stars in their own, right? And I think the orbit would only get bigger if they get a breakthrough too, so, I think they can."
