One week after the WTA, the ATP is coming to Qatar with the 2021 Qatar Open starting on Monday with a strong field headlined by Roger Federer.
As the title suggest this event will feature the return of Roger Federer to competitive tennis as he will be the 2nd seed at the 2021 Qatar Open. The first seed will be Dominic Thiem and both of them will be eyeing that trophy. The event also features a hefty overall financial commitment of 890.920 $ on offer. As always the winner will get the most of it and this time year the champion's purse is $69,520. The finalist will get a consolation prize of $51,340 with the semifinalist set to earn $36,940.
Besides Federer who won this event three times, we will see two players who also won the trophy before with Roberto Bautista Agut winning it in 2019 while Andrey Rublev winning it last year. The Russian is the defending champion but he will face stiff competition from many great players.
