America’s young tennis star
Ben Shelton has found a striking
resemblance to rising star
Darwin Blanch. The 21-year-old is often regarded as
one of the most highly-rated players currently playing in the men’s singles
category alongside Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Jannik Sinner.
Shelton, in a post on his official account on the social
media platform Instagram, shared a picture of young Blanch and called him ‘Me
2.0’ for having striking similarities.
The 16-year-old recently took part in the
Miami Open where
he lost to the Czech Republic’s Tomas Machac in the round of 128 in straight
sets with a score of 6-4, 6-2.
On the other hand, Shelton is also taking part in the ATP
1000 event in Miami where he is taking part in the men’s singles and doubles
category.
In the singles event, the Atlanta-born has already booked
his place in the round of 32 after defeating Spain’s Martin Landaluce in the second
round in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4. He is now set to face off against Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in the next-round clash on Monday.
In the men’s doubles category, Shelton is teaming up with Christopher
Eubanks and they will face the pair of Andreas Mies and Robin Haase in the
round of 32 clash on Sunday.
