A couple of nations have clinched quarterfinal spots at the
Davis Cup Finals with Kazakhstan, Great Britain, and Croatia all moving on.
The first nation to secure the quarterfinals today was Croatia and it came after Serdarusic defeated Marozsan. Croatia only needed on victory against Hungary and after they got it they officially qualified. Kazakhstan is another nation that qualified today with victories by Kukushkin and Bublik. The 2nd crucial point came from Bublik who proved better than Pospisil.
Bublik has been playing a spectacular event so far winning crucial rubbers for his nation leading it to the quarterfinals. Today's performance was another brilliant one as he bested Pospisil 2-0 to secure the 2nd point for his country. The final country that so far has reached the quarterfinals is Great Britain. It was a very entertaining tie against the Czech Republic with the Brits ultimately winning 2-1.
The crucial point came down to the doubles and Skupski and Salisbury proved a very formidable doubles pairing easily besting Machac and Vesely 6-4 6-2. It was in doubt a bit after Evans lost the first match today but the team was able to rally behind Norrie and their doubles players to safely secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
