The ATP Rankings have been updated for a new week after the Miami Open with Jakub Mensik in particular being the main story after becoming the second new winner on the ATP 1000 circuit after Jack Draper.

Both rising stars Mensik and Draper have shown a glimpse into the future and perhaps showing that Alcaraz and Sinner shouldn't be boxed off as the only players to watch. He has risen an astonishing 30 spots this week. He is up to a career high of World No.24 after stunning Novak Djokovic last night.

The top five remains unchanged though as Jannik Sinner remains top of the pile. None of his nearest challengers have taken the chance they were given during this time and have floundered amid the possibility of taking the World No.1 spot.

Novak Djokovic though has maintained his spot in the top five having not played Miami last year. He reached the final and now has 4,510 points. Casper Ruud is way behind meaning Djokovic stays comfortably in the higher rungs for now especially given that Ruud has to defend runs at Monte-Carlo, Barcelona and Geneva.

Daniil Medvedev has also fallen out of the top 10. He reached the semi-finals of the Miami Open last year however was stunned by Jaume Munar and despite a positive Indian Wells is out of the top 10 for the first time since 2023.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has now leapfrogged those players around him as a result going up to World No.8 albeit he needs to maintain his recent return to form. He won Monte-Carlo last year and reached the final in Barcelona so isn't without a potential ranking drop in his future.

Albeit his torrid end to 2024 means that he will likely regain any momentum with any form post clay. While Arthur Fils also surged with the Frenchman reaching his second consecutive Quarter-Final during this year's Sunshine Double. He is now in the top 15. All of this while recently sacking his coach. Whatever he is doing like Mensik seems to be working.
