Danielle Collins adopted an injured dog called Crash after finding him outside of the Hard Rock Stadium at the Miami Open and she used her entrepreneurial brain again to give a new motto and also likely new merch.
Collins dropped merchandise last month which her team all wore in the stands after her viral moment at the Australian Open which saw her become public enemy number one. She cupped her ear to the crowd and said they pay her checks.
She returned again at the Charleston Open this week with Collins defending the title and it was a simple win over Robin Montgomery through the night 6-3, 6-1 as she also sets her eyes on an animal filled life post tennis.
"You know my motto is gone for like, 'Play tennis, cash cheques, rescue animals, and give them the boujiest lifestyle possible,' that's my new motto," she said on Tennis Channel.
She also added that she plans to turn that motto into merch like she has done previously for the play tennis cash checks motto. "Yeah we need some new merch, so stay tuned, guys," she continued.
"I am the crunchiest granola person ever now. I'm sure that kind of takes a lot people by surprise but I always wanted to have my own farm. I've now started with 7 chickens. They are so sweet, they are very similar to the dogs. Some of them tried to get in my car before my trip to Miami. Just learning about them, taking care of them. They are so innocent, so sweet. It's just a really cool concept."
"It's so different to what I do the rest of the year to be going home and cleaning the chicken coop and trying to enhance their coop as much as possible. It's fun, it gives me a lot of purpose and joy. I've got to get a donkey next. I'm going to have my hands full post retirement."
