Japan’s tennis star
Naomi Osaka’s debut as an executive
producer earned her an Emmy nomination.
The 25-year-old is currently not taking part in any tennis
activities for nearly a year after becoming pregnant.
It was not the first time when Osaka took some time off from
tennis as she also did that previously in order to take care of her mental
health.
In her off time, Osaka has been involved in a number of
different activities and one was becoming the executive producer of a document
project called ‘Mink!’.
To her credit, the project has now received a nomination for
Emmy awards, something that is likely to spark more doubts about whether the
former world number one will now think about switching her profession.
On the court, Osaka has been nothing short of a revelation,
having won four Grand Slams despite all those sabbaticals.
Her first major victory in the world of tennis was the US
Open triumph in 2018 when she defeated legendary former world number Serena
Williams in the final with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
Osaka’s last major triumph came in 2021 when she won the
Australian Open after beating Jennifer Brady of America in the final with a
score of 6-4, 6-3.
