Novak Djokovic sealed a record seventh ATP Finals crown, but he has a bigger goal in mind going into 2024 which has eluded his trophy cabinet thus far.
That being an Olympic gold medal which he has tried to win for a long time, but has been unable to and he is wanting to also seal a Calendar Grand Slam with his ambitions only altering slightly to include Olympic gold.
This is despite by his own admission the difficulty of going from grass to American hard courts to clay and then back to the US for the US Open where he will look to win again. An arduous task but given it is likely his final chance to seal it, he will look to Paris.
"Well, you can win four slams and an Olympic gold,” Djokovic said about 2024.
“I have always the highest ambitions and goals. That’s not going to be different for the next year.
“The drive that I have is still there. My body has been serving me well, listening to me well. I have a great team of people around me.
“Motivation, especially for the biggest tournaments in sport, is still present. It still inspires me to keep going.“
“It is definitely one of the major goals for next year, other than Grand Slams,” Djokovic said on Paris.
“It’s going to be a very congested schedule with going from the slowest to the fastest surface in sport back to the slowest. Clay, grass, clay, then hard court. Obviously, that’s a very demanding, challenging stretch of the year.’
“I’m going to have to speak with my team to see how we can plan out our preparations, and training so that I’m able to play my best tennis where I want to.”

Q. You won three Grand Slams and the ATP Finals this year. For 2024, how you keep yourself motivated? How is it possible to do better than this? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Well, you can win four slams and Olympic gold. 🤪🤟
