Felix Auger-Aliassime did what he needed to do to keep his team in the running for the event as he eased past Zverev in straight sets 6-4 6-3.
Alexander Zverev has played some solid tennis so far this year and it's been a positive development for him after the injury. Today he was unable to do much against a very solid Felix Auger-Aliassime who keeps winning matches. The Canadian once again proved better taking this one fairly easily.
It was a balanced match to start as neither player allowed much and we saw no breaks. The first break came late in the opening set when Auger-Aliassime finally found a breakthrough. He was the player that had to save early break points so it was a huge momentum-shifting moment. In a way it proved quite crucial for the match.
Felix ended the first 6-4 and then proceeded to smash Zverev easily in the second set 6-2. The final will now be decided by the doubles matchup that will follow shortly after this match.
