Gavrilova always up for a challenge

Daria Gavrilova is a fan favourite due to her willingness to challenge herself on and off the court.

The player is currently planning to return to competitive tennis after a lengthy absence due to injury with her goal being the top 20. She is currently training hard in Melbourne where she took part in the UTR. She spoke about dealing with a lot of things lately saying:

“I appreciate all the little things a lot more. My family – my brother and my mum – they actually got stuck here because of COVID-19. It’s a good place to be stuck, to be honest, and it’s meant I’ve reconnected with them.

She continued by saying:

"They live in Russia and I haven’t been able to see them all that much since I moved here, so it’s been nice to spend time with them. I accumulated a few new hobbies too.”

She also spoke about her side business she started recently:

“I’m making a ton of bracelets. I don’t even know if I will have clients, but I’ll try. Once I set it up, I’ll see how it goes. I just want to have fun with it.”
