Former world No. 1 Jim Courier certainly can spot talent and he believes
Carlos Alcaraz has what it takes to be a great player.
Alcaraz is just 18 years old but is quickly establishing himself as one of the best players in the world. He played a fabulous event in Indian Wells reaching the semifinal but losing to finalist Nadal. Two weeks later in Miami, he went even further reaching the final.
In Indian Wells, Alcaraz reached his maiden Masters semifinal. Two
weeks later, Alcaraz reached his maiden Masters final in Miami and he went all the way defeating Casper Ruud in the final to lift his maiden ATP 1000 trophy. Speaking on the Tennis Channel, Courier said:
“He makes a lot of adjustments, he has creativity. He has so many options that it's hard not to be excited about this player. It's
amazing to see him play the important points with so much confidence."
Courier is only the latest in a growing list of former players and tennis legends that are speaking highly of Alcaraz as it's becoming pretty clear to everyone that he will be truly great. The Spaniard already eclipsed his goal for the season as he wanted to break into the top 15. He is currently 11th with a great chance to be ranked inside the top 10.
