Germany’s tennis star
Alexander Zverev has revealed that he is
battling through the feeling of fatigue to secure a spot in the ATP Finals.
The last big competition on the ATP calendar is set to begin
very soon where four out of the eight spots are still up for grabs.
Zverev was quoted recently in a report where he stated optimism
that he will be able to go through fatigue and cement his spot in the mega
event.
“I think I've been playing well over the last few months,
actually,” he said. “I have a goal of mine, I want to be one of the best eight
players and I want to be in Turin. And that's why, you know, I think I am
tired, but I kind of forget that I am, I need to kind of power through it.
“And so far the Chinese swing has been good. I mean, I won
title and made semis in Beijing, I feel like I played very good tennis there as
well. And we'll see how Shanghai goes.
Zverev has had a mixed year while playing in the big
competitions this year. The highlight of 2023 for the Hamburg-born came in the
French Open where he played in the semifinal but lost to Norway’s Casper Ruud in
straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 6-0.
