Diego Schwartzman had to dig deep in order to overcome Sebastian Ofner in over two hours and after the match, he spoke about the victory. He said:

"It was difficult for both of us, too many mistakes in the first set. But I got lucky at the end and I’ve very happy to be in the next round. I’m trying to get my confidence back after a difficult US swing."

And indeed it was a shaky start for Schwartzman despite a convincing 6-2 1st victory. He was lucky because he played less bad than his opponent. When Ofner won the 2nd set it looked quite different but in the end, the Argentinian prevailed.

Schwartzman is set to play against Laslo Djere next, a difficult opponent who plays his best tennis on clay courts. His straight-sets victory against Jannik Sinner proves just that. It will be a tough match for Diego against Djere who said after his victory that he feels really comfortable in Kitzbuhel and that the altitude doesn't bother him and even suits him.
