Jack Draper set to feature in 2025 Queen's ATP Championship

Britain’s tennis star Jack Draper will play in the 2025 edition of the Queen’s ATP Championship. The event is regarded as one of the oldest in the history of men’s tennis. Next year, it will be the 124th edition of the competition.

As per the latest report, Draper will participate in the competition next year. The 22-year-old is now regarded as the best British player in the men’s singles category. Draper has had a fabulous year where he played in his first-ever semifinal of a Grand Slam. He lost in the semifinal of the US Open to reigning world number one Jannik Sinner with a score of 7-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Draper participated in the 2024 edition of the Queen’s ATP Championship, where he was knocked out after losing in the quarterfinal to 2024 US Open runner-up America’s Taylor Fritz with a score of 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. Despite losing in the quarterfinals, Draper would be happy with his performance in the competition as he defeated the reigning world number three Carlos Alcaraz in the round of 16 in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-3. Fritz eventually won the competition as he defeated Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 7-6.

Overall, Draper played in 59 matches in 2024, winning 39 and suffering just 20 defeats. He also lifted two titles. His last appearance was in the Paris Masters, where he lost in the third round to Australia’s Alex de Minaur with a score of 5-7, 6-2, 6-3. The Sutton-born will be hoping to take his good form into next season and become the first British player to win the Queen’s ATP Championship in nine years. The last British player to lift the title was the former world number one Andy Murray in 2016 as he defeated Canada’s Milos Raonic in the final with a score of 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
