Andy Murray's season came to an end in Stockholm where the Brit lost to Tommy Paul in three sets but Murray is confident about his 2022 season.
Andy Murray was determined to build upon his sensational win over Jannik Sinner where he played some amazing tennis. However, he stumbled in the very next round against Tommy Paul losing in three sets. Murray did not play particularly well and his opponent was simply more consistent and that resulted in the defeat.
Talking about the match he said:
"I didn’t hit the ball particularly well so I was on the back foot in most of the rallies. I
was just battling, the timing was off from the back of the court a little
bit but that’s the first time since February where I played three
consecutive days.”
Speaking about his future Murray struck a positive tone explaining that he has big plans for next year. He said:
“My game will improve, I think, over the off-season – I’m pretty clear on the things that I need to work on. I need to make sure we get a good plan in place that come the beginning of January those improvements have been made.”
Whether Murray will improve even further remains to be seen but we will get to see him play in Australia which has always been one of his favorite events of the year.
