For most athletes, parents are their biggest fans as they watch them grow up and compete on the court. For Cameron Norrie, it's not different yet watching some of those matches can be very nerve-racking. That was the case with the senior Norrie's who according to Norrie did not even watch the match. Upon return to the UK Norrie revealed:
“They actually didn't watch the match. They were too nervous to be watching so I spoke to them after, they were in tears"
Asked to elaborae in depht he said:
The win is Norrie's biggest ever as it's only his 2nd title with the only previous won being an ATP 250 even in Los Cabos earlier in the year. The Brit admitted as much after the match saying:
“To win this title has been absolutely a big step for me, especially coming from winning Los Cabos, which was only an ATP 250. It’s been a lot of finals and a lot of them haven't gone my way, so it’s nice for this bigger one to go my way, especially after coming unstuck in the Queen's final, just before Wimbledon, than now is a tough one."
