Rafael Nadal has been confirmed as the top seed at the 2023
Australian Open after
Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from the event due to an injury.
We're about a week away from the start of the Australian Open and we have a pretty clear picture of who will be the seeds at the event. Carlos Alcaraz was supposed to be the number one seed at the event but his withdrawal due to an injury means that Rafael Nadal will be seeded first when it begins.
We actually know who the top four seeds at the event will be and besides Nadal at number one, it will be
Casper Ruud as the second seed,
Stefanos Tsitsipas as the number three seed and
Novak Djokovic will be the 4th seed. A huge implication of all of this is that Nadal and Federer can't face each other before the semi-finals.
