With the draw now confirmed for the 2025 Australian Open which is due to start on January 12, the Projected Quarter-Finals also offer a best case scenario in terms of the big names making up a box office Quarter-Final line-up.
This includes Jannik Sinner who could face Alex de Minaur in the Quarter-Finals showcasing perhaps a simpler route than his counterparts. Taylor Fritz as fourth seed could yet have Daniil Medvedev.
Medvedev though will be one to watch on upsets as he has not been in Australia too long due to the birth of his second child. So might not be exactly 100% adding in jet lag too. While Zverev could face Ruud being the second and sixth seeds.
The main clash though that could feasibly take place sees Carlos Alcaraz face Novak Djokovic. 'Carlitos' will look to add an elusive piece of his puzzle over the next fortnight while the same can be said for Djokovic albeit more so as a record breaking 25th Grand Slam title.
But Djokovic and Alcaraz could be the section that gets blown wide open. The Serbian's draw is brutal as he could face Reilly Opelka who dismantled him in Brisbane last week or it could be Tomas Machac who is no slouch. Grigor Dimitrov then could await in Round Four before a tie with Alcaraz just to have a place in the semi-finals where Alexander Zverev would likely await then of course Jannik Sinner.
Alcaraz also has a tough time, he opens perhaps simpler against Shevchenko then Nishioka likely before facing likely home hero Jordan Thompson in Round Three. But he then could face any of Draper, Korda or Kokkinakis before Djokovic.
If it is not the Serbian, it could be Dimitrov, Machac or Lehecka. While like Djokovic, it would then be Zverev and Sinner. Very much a match that would be great if it happens but also one where the likelihood is decreased based on their draw.
