Day 8 of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown brought us a lot of great tennis that saw Tsitsipas and Berrettini secure victories.
The first match of the day at the
Ultimate Tennis Showdown featured a match between
Dustin Brown and
Elliot Benchetrit. The Frenchman was much better early on clearly establishing himself as the better player. He felt much more comfortable on the clay courts as opposed to Brown who prefers faster surfaces. The end result was 3-1 for Elliot (17-11 18-7 12-15 17-12).
The 2nd match of the day was a stunning one. It was
Tsitsipas against
Moutet and they both delivered. After 4 sets it was all tied and they went to the decider. In it, it was Tsitsipas who managed to pull through and secure the victory. What is especially stunning is that Tsitsipas had to fight back from being 0-2 down to force the decider and ultimate 3-2 victory. (10-16 11-13 15-11 19-5 3-1).
The 3rd match of the day featured
Berrettini and
Alexei Popyrin. The Italian had no issues in this match as he established himself early on. He never looked back as he cruised to an easy 4-0 victory over the Australian youngster. As said before the end result was 4-0 for Berrettini. (14-12 17-9 19-10 14-11).
