World No.9 Andrey Rublev appears to be enjoying his new collaboration with former World No.1 Mara Safin as coach, with the Russian bursting into spontaneous laughter when addressing their relationship following his opening round victory at the Monte-Carlo Masters.

The Doha champion faced fan-favorite Gael Monfils in his opening match, securing a 6-4 7-6(2) victory over the Frenchman. Awaiting Rublev in the round of 16 is Monfils' compatriot Arthur Fils, who scored a straight sets victory over rising Italian star Flavio Cobolli to reach the fourth round. Rublev and Fils have met on only one occasion on the ATP Tour, with the Russian prevailing in three sets during their quarterfinal meeting in Hong Kong last year.

Rublev couldn't stop laughing during interview

Following his win over Monfils, the Russian stopped by The Tennis Channel broadcast desk to say a few words. However, he was unable to express much, as he burst into uncontrollable laughter when asked how his relationship with new coach Safin was working out.

The interviewer would make several attempts to steer the conversation back on course, with Rublev apologizing and making an effort to remain straight-faced. However, the 27-year old would again break down into uncontrollable laughter, which became contagious as the host inevitably joined him. Below is the full video.
