Zhizhen Zhang will face Aslan Karatsev for a spot in the Madrid Open semi-final and it will be the second time they played in Madrid but this one will be official.
After his superb comeback win over Fritz, Zhang spoke to the ATP on the court and he revealed that he practised with Karatsev before the event. The Chinese player took on Karatsev in a practice set losing 6-0 in the end which is quite the result:
"I'll tell you a secret... We had a practice and I lost 6-0"
He will have a chance to change that when he takes him on in an official match. Both of them are playing really well right now though Karatsev has far more experience on the top level and is coming off of a win over Medvedev.
