Coco Gauff is known for her speed and athleticism on the court, and she has now revealed who she thinks could challenge her in a 100-meter run.
World No. 7 Gauff has been displaying her talented tennis ability this week at the Cincinnati Open, defeating Jasmine Paolini in the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
However, Gauff is also a gifted runner, having chosen tennis over track when she was younger. Her mother Candi also ran track at Florida State University.

Gauff says 400m was her specialty

After securing her place in the semi-finals of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, where she will face world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, Gauff spoke to reporters about her love of running, especially the 400m.
When asked what her secret was for running a good 400, Gauff jokingly replied:
"I don't get tired."
This could possibly be due to the fact that Gauff also used to run the 800m.
"Everybody said I should run 400. I was like, I'm not going to take one of my teammates' spots, this is actually their life, and this is just something I'm doing for fun. I'll just stick to the 800," she recalled.

Gauff says who she thinks could beat her at 100m

Gauff also said she thinks her compatriot Alycia Parks and Polish player Swiatek could have a chance at challenging her in a 100m.
"I think Alycia Parks, she's pretty quick, has a good stride. Iga [Swiatek] is pretty quick, too. I think those two would give me a run.
"I would be curious to test it, to be honest," the 19-year-old said.
Gauff also spoke of her feelings ahead of her match against four-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek in Cincinnati.
"I'm just really going to go out there and continue to follow the plan that I've been doing in the last couple of my matches. I do feel a lot more confident going into it tomorrow.
"But she's not an easy opponent to play, especially against me. I think I really just got to take it point by point and try to stay mentally engaged every ball," she said.
