Chris Evert congratulated
Alycia Parks on her victory over Victoria Azarenka at the
Madrid Open.
Former world No. 1 Chris Evert reacted to Parks' recent comments on victoried and defeats. The young American eon her first WTA title earlier this year by defeating first seed Caroline Garcia in the final and caused sensation in the tennis world.
Afer the great week in February, Parks hafn't achievef another good result untill now at the Madrid Ipen, where she has already reached the third round with a resounding victory over former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka. This is the first time for the 22-year-old tennis player to reach third stage at any WTA 1000 and she revealed her thoughs on winning or loses streaks.
"Wins obviously really give you confidence when you had a little rough losing patch. So each win, I put in my pocket. Each loss, I put in my back pocket and get rid of it," said Parks.
Chris Evert used Twitter to respond Parks:
"I love that! Great perspective" she wrote.
"Every opponent, I just look at them all the same." Parks said on the same. "I don't think about their ranking or what they achuevef. I just go out there and play them as if i was playing someone 1000 in the world or someone with no ranking."
The young American tennis player will reach the top-50 for the first time in her career next week. She will face Italian Martina Trevisan in the third round of the 2023 Madrid Open.
