The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) announced in its quarterly update that just six alerts on tennis were reported as suspicious between the three months to 30 June, it can be revealed.
A drop across the board with just 38 cases of suspicious betting as a whole in all sports, this despite a recent probe on two suspicious matches from this month's
WImbledon after bookmakers had flagged 'possible irregular betting patterns'.
Providers were alarmed due to abnormal betting stakes being put on matches with monitoring firms overseeing these markets confirming this information.
An alert usually transpires when a high flurry of bets come into one particular match or a type of scoreline or stat to be achieved.
