The topic of retirement in the case of Rafael Nadal has been shut down multiple times by the legendary Spaniard himself but Alexander Zverev believes it will come at a certain tournament during 2023.
Speaking to Eurosport, Zverev believes he will sail off into the sunset after potentially winning Roland Garros for the 15th time, the tournament he is seen in highest regard at.
"Rafael Nadal will, unfortunately, retire at Roland-Garros. I don't wish him, but I think he will have a great tournament, potentially win it and then say goodbye," he said to Eurosport.
This after Zverev himself 'retired' during his match with Nadal during the 2022 edition which saw the German have a horrific injury which has meant his comeback has only happened going into 2023.
The jury will still be out whether or not this will happen but with Nadal at the twilight of his career, it is a question that will continue to be speculated on.
