The draw has been confirmed for the next WTA 500 of the season which takes place between February 3-8, 2025 in the form of the Abu Dhabi Open headlined by Elena Rybakina, Paula Badosa, Daria Kasatkina and Emma Raducanu.
Rybakina has a pretty simple start as such as she has a bye then faces a qualifier in the second round. Then she sits in the section that features a standout tie between Ons Jabeur and Jelena Ostapenko.
Paula Badosa is second seed after her semi-final run at the 2025 Australian Open. She faces either Linda Noskova or Magdalena Frech. Third seed and the master of WTA 500 tournaments, Daria Kasatkina opens up against either a qualifier or Ashlyn Krueger.
Yulia Putintseva is fourth seed and could face Emma Raducanu or Marketa Vondrousova in a landmark battle of former major champions who perhaps haven't kicked on since their triumphs.
Other ties to watch include Leylah Fernandez v Ekaterina Alexandrova, Caroline Garcia v Lulu Sun as well as Belinda Bencic v Rebecca Sramkova.
The Abu Dhabi Open was first introduced in 2021 as a temporary event due to the pandemic-adjusted schedule but returned in 2023 as a permanent fixture on the WTA calendar. Played on outdoor hard courts, the tournament attracts top players and has quickly become a key stop in the Middle Eastern swing of the season. Notable champions include Aryna Sabalenka, who won the inaugural edition, and Belinda Bencic, who claimed the title in 2023.
