Elena Rybakina crashes out of Madrid Open

Elena Rybakina is out of the Madrid Open following a lackluster performance and loss to Anna Kalinskaya in three sets 5-7 6-4 2-6.

Anna Kalinskaya is a very good tennis player but also a very consistent tennis player. She can range from incredible to quite poor and to Rybakina's detriment, she was rather good today. The first set was a really close one as neither player had any break chances until the late stages of the set. It was Kalinskaya who got the break and finished it off 7-5.

The second set was one where Rybakina applied heavy pressure on her opponent but it was the Russian who once again got the first break. She took a 3-2 lead but gave the break right back to make it 3-3. Eventually, Rybakina was able to outperform her opponent and take the second set 6-4 sending it into a decider.

It wasn't a very good one as Rybakina played rather poorly in that one. Kalinskaya took an early break and she kept playing well finishing it off 6-2. It was just a bad final set from Rybakina.
