Eugenie Bouchard's
Madrid Open run is done after she lost to last year's Roland Garros semi-finalist
Martina Trevisan in two sets 2-6 5-7.
The Canadian was playing really strong tennis so far at the event but today was not one of her best days. Trevisan is a capable clay player who showed how good on the surface she is last year with her Roland Garros run. This year though she's had somewhat of a shaky year with some injuries as well.
Today, the Italian proved much better than Bouchard outplaying her despite not playing perfectly. Bouchard was able to find solutions at times and even broke her opponent more than once however she couldn't deal with the pressure that Trevisan brought. The Italian also risked more hitting quite a few impressive winners with her lefty.
Overall a solid outing for bOuchard but still a lot more work need for any serious breakout.
