Raducanu will headline the event along with Romania's biggest tennis star Simona Halep who always fondly spoke about the passion Romanian fans bring to every sport. Raducanu will have a busy schedule after returning to regular tennis at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells next week. After that event, she will travel to Cluj-Napoca to play at the Transylvania Open.
Commenting on that she said:
“I am extremely excited to play at the Transylvania Open, in front of Romanian fans. My father is from Romania, so to participate for the first time in a WTA competition in the country where he was born is a special moment and I can’t wait to get to Cluj!”
Raducanu has a decent chance of booking a spot in Guadalajara for the WTA finals as the British player is only trailing the 8th spot by about 400 points in the Race. With a busy schedule and some solid results, she could get it.
