Mirra Andreeva next has Iga Swiatek in her path towards the title at Indian Wells and isn't one she is taking lightly despite a recent win. It was another crushing win on Thursday as she saw off Elina Svitolina 7-5, 6-3 en route to the last four.

In the semi-finals, Andreeva faces Swiatek for the third time in her career. But the last one in particular was one to marvel at for the Russian. She managed to seal a 6-3, 6-3 win on her way to winning the title in Dubai.

But as she explained pre tournament about dwelling on Dubai, she doesn't want to dwell on a past win over Swiatek. She said it is a different day and gives no credence when it comes to their next tie.

Swiatek since then has been utterly incredible in California and has barely dropped a game so is a different player to their last tie. But Andreeva has remained the same in that she has continued her incredible form.

Many see her as a champion in waiting and Swiatek will be the one who aims to put out that fire. Sabalenka or Keys await on the other end meaning that it is the four that perhaps on paper should be there. But for Andreeva, it is a new day and a new task.

"It doesn't give me any benefit to our match tomorrow, because what happened happened, and the past is in the past," Andreeva said. "Tomorrow is going to be a new day, new match, new conditions, new country. Everything is different.

"I'm going to try my best to prepare in the best way for our match tomorrow, and I'm sure that the match is going to be great, because our head-to-head is 1-All. I think it's going to be an entertaining match, and we're just going to see who is going to be better tomorrow."
