Japan’s tennis star Naomi Osaka is eying success at the Summer Olympics in 2024. The former world number one recently returned to the court after a break of more than one year at the Brisbane International.

Osaka was recently quoted in a report where she stated that she is eying some big success in the mega-event set to take place in the summer.

"I would love to do something important at the Olympic Games, but I know that this is a process and I have to go little by little,” she said. “I want to think tournament by tournament and I have designed a schedule that allows me to play as many matches as possible be back to the pace of the competition.

“At the end of it all, if anything goes wrong, I know I can count on myself to have a really good end of the year, like towards the US Open."

The 26-year-old started the Brisbane International in style as she outclassed Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch in straight sets in the round of 64 with a score of 6-3, 7-6.

The four-time Grand Slam winner is now set to face off the current world number 39 the Czech Republic’s Karolina Pliskova in the round of 32 on Tuesday.
