The 2025 Brisbane International on the WTA side will be the first tournament of the season and will comprise of the WTA 500 and ATP 250. The prize money and points distribution have been confirmed ahead of the tournament which takes place between Sunday December 29 and Sunday January 5.
There will be a 64 player singles draw with $1,736,763 on offer in terms of overall financial commitment. Those vying for the title include reigning Australian Open champion and finalist Aryna Sabalenka as well as Emma Navarro, Daria Kasatkina, Paula Badosa, Diana Shnaider, Anna Kalinskaya, Jelena Ostapenko and Mirra Andreeva. Jessica Pegula has withdrawn.
It is almost a who's who of those who have decided against or couldn't qualify for the United Cup with the ASB Classic also taking place that week headlined by Emma Raducanu, Amanda Anisimova and Naomi Osaka as well as Madison Keys. Others have decided to head to Australia to play the teams competition including World Number One, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff.
With this being a WTA 500, those involved will vie for 500 points as well as $192,475 which is down from $220,000 for the victor last year. $120,735 will go to the finalist, while semi-finalists receive $69,900. Points wise, it will be 325 points and 195 points respectively. The breakdown goes all the way down to the first round with a sole point for losing and $10,660 onto the ranking. The road towards the Australian Open begins now and the first tournament is right around the corner.
