Carlos Alcaraz has achieved a new record that he shares with Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Boris Becker, among others.
The young star has shown that he does not have any weak surfaces. Although there were doubts about his level on grass, as he had not played many matches on that surface throughout his career.
However, he arrived at the Queen's Club Championship and immediately became the champion by defeating Alex de Minaur in the final. As the World No. 1, he started
Wimbledon as the top favorite and demonstrated his level on grass in his debut, defeating Jeremy Chardy 6-0, 6-2, 7-5.
With this 6-0 victory, Alcaraz joins the select group of nine players who have achieved a 6-0 score before the age of 21 in Grand Slam tournaments on three different surfaces. He now joins several tennis legends such as Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Ivanisevic, Jim Courier, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic who have also achieved this record.
In the second round, Carlos Alcaraz will face the winner of the match between French players Alexandre Muller and Alexandre Müller. Alcaraz's best result at Wimbledon so far was reaching the fourth round in 2022, where he was defeated by Italian Jannik Sinner in four sets.
