Andy Murray to begin 2022 grass season in Stuttgart

Andy Murray's name is on the entry list for the ATP event in Stuttgart which confirms that the British player will take a different approach ahead of Wimbledon this year.

Murray never played in Stuttgart before but playing at the event leading up to Wimbledon has been done by Federer in the past and perhaps Murray found inspiration in that. The event switched to grass courts a few years ago after being played on clay for a very long time. Federer won the event in 2018 beating Raonic in the final.

Rafael Nadal won the first grass event back in 2015 and that was his 3rd overall title at the MercedesCup. Another big name that is set to appear at the event is Nick Kyrgios who is also on the entry list. The event is an ATP 250 event with Marin Cilic being the defending champion. It begins on June 6th, the day after the French Open final.
