The 2024
BMW Open Munich will be part of the clay season from April 15 to April 21. The
tournament is played immediately after the Monte Carlo Masters and will feature
a draw led by local favorite
Alexander Zverev, champion in 2017 and 2018, as
well as the champion of the last two editions,
Holger Rune.
The
tournament will have its 108th edition in the German city of Munich and will
feature 28 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Additionally, this will be the
last year that it will be an ATP 250 tournament, as starting from 2025 it will
be upgraded to an ATP 500 level event.
Other
players who will be present include the British players
Jack Draper and Andy
Murray, the two-time Munich finalist
Botic van de Zandschulp, the local
Jan-Lennard Struff, and the former world No. 6
Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Two wild
cards were assigned to the former Grand Slam champion
Dominic Thiem and the
former Wimbledon finalist
Matteo Berrettini, who was a finalist in Munich in
2019 but lost against Cristian Garin, who this year will have to go through the
qualifying rounds to enter the main draw.
