Auger-Aliassime reflects on recent struggles - "It feels like the year has been so long!"

Canadian tennis star Felix Auger-Aliassime has been trying to rediscover his form from the start of the year, but admits that it has been a long season for him.

The World No.10 made a strong start to the year as he led Canada to their first ATP Cup title and then reached the Australian Open quarterfinal. Subsequently, he won his maiden ATP title in Rotterdam before finishing runner-up in Marseille.

Hoping to build-off his momentum at the Sunshine Double, he lost his openers in Indian Wells and Miami. The clay season saw him suffer a round-of-16 loss in Marrakech, followed by a defeat in his Monte Carlo opener.

"I was one of the best players of the year for the first two months and then had a couple of bad months, some bad losses," said Auger-Aliassime during an interview in Estoril. "It feels like the year has been so long!"

However, the 21-year seems to be in the process of righting the ship, as he reached the quarterfinals in Barcelona and the Estoril Open. Nonetheless, the Canadian is aware of his slump after Marseille and admitted he had a poor run of form during that period.
