Former world number one and famous
commentator
John McEnroe has called legendary
Andre Agassi ‘a chum’ in recent
comments.
Both former greats faced each other
in the Pickleball events where they were involved in a bit of exchange of
words. McEnroe, in a recent comment, called Agassi ‘a chump’, something that
will not go down well with the former world number one. "Bit of a chump
from last year," he said.
McEnroe has had a fabulous record while
playing at the highest level. He ended his illustrious career with seven times to
his name. His most successful competition was the US Open where he lifted the
title four times.
His last major title was also the
US Open in 1984 where he defeated Czech Republic’s Ivan Lendl in straight sets
with a score of 6–3, 6–4, 6–1. On the other hand, Agassi ended his career with
eight Grand Slam titles.
His most successful competition was
the Australian Open where he lifted the title four times. Despite winning just
eight major titles, Agassi completed the Career Grand Slam after winning all four
big titles. Other than that, Agassi also won the Olympic Gold medal for the country
in 1996 after defeating Spain’s Sergi Bruguera with a score of 6–2, 6–3, 6–1.
