Cameron Norrie moves to Indian Wells final over Dimitrov

Cameron Norrie has done it, he is in the BNP Paribas Open final with another great performance and win over Grigor Dimitrov 6-2 6-4.

What a week Cameron Norrie is having in the Californian desert. The British player is through to his maiden final in Indian Wells after another stellar showing and win. The Brit, who will become the number one from that country, will need to wait a few more hours before he finds out his opponent but with the way he has been playing, he should not be worried about facing anybody.

Today against Dimitrov he was excellent, as all week. He started off the match in a similar fashion to the one against Schwartzman taking a double break 4-0 lead. Everything was working for Norrie, his serve, his baseline play, court movement was excellent and Dimitrov, well, wasn't the Dimitrov of the past few rounds.

Norrie was just very solid overall, especially on Dimitrov's 2nd serve where the Brit did most of his damage. He converted all three break points he had while winning 79 % of his first serves and that will get the job done on most days. The 2nd set featured more battles between the players as rallies were longer, games were long and the set was longer.

Dimitrov showed some life but he could never quite crack the Norrie code especially when he needed to. After losing his serve early he applied some heavy pressure on Norrie forcing him to play a couple of deuces but each time the Brit was ready. In the end, he proved steady and calm closing it out with 6-4 to complete the magnificent victory, the biggest one of his career.
