Denis Shapovalov continued his great run at Wimbledon with another great win and this time it was Andy Murray whom he beat. Shapovalov came out strong early simply overwhelming Murray with his intensity. Murray did not look sharp at all which could be because of his marathon match in the previous round.
However, the set took an awkward turn at 5-1 when Murray went on a 3-0 run that got the crowd roaring. Shapovalov still served for the set at 5-4 but he faced three break points in that game before finally closing out the set with 6-4.
That would be the last significant push by Murra whose game eroded as play went on. Shapovalov jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the 2nd set as Murray simply could not match the tennis Denis was producing. He was to aggresive and Murray was a bit slow to react.
Shapovalov won the 2nd set with 6-2 and continued his great play into the 3rd set. Once again he took an early 4-0 lead dominating rallies with his winners. Murray barely won the game at 0-4 to avoid a potential bagel but in the end Shapovalov closed it out with 6-2.
