Novak Djokovic has lost one of his major sponsors in Peugeot in a U-turn after they previously backed the former World No.1 after his decision to remain unvaccinated.
While many who were against Djokovic's stance called for sponsors to drop him in the wake of his BBC interview, the car company were one who stuck by him saying they were glad he expressed himself.
But despite that, he has still lost the backing ending one of his longest standing sponsorship agreements and asking more questions as a result of this decision.
"No, we will not continue with the sponsorship of Djokovic," Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis Group which owns Peugeot confirmed to El Espanol in a blunt response.
But according to information from journalist, Saša Ozmo who covered his Australian Open saga in depth, it is not due to his stance on vaccination.
This more being the likely case of the company losing lots of money due to the pandemic so they have made the decision to cut ties after an eight-year partnership.

#Djokovic and Peugeot will not be partners going forward, I am told. Peugeot has taken a huge hit financially during the pandemic, and Djokovic was a big client. I am told that his stance on vaccination is not the reason, let’s see if both sides have more to say on the topic.
