Serbia’s legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic has expressed disappointment about his marketing company for not doing things properly. The 37-year-old is often regarded as the greatest player in the history of men’s tennis in the Open era, having won as many as 24 Grand Slam titles.
Djokovic was recently quoted in a report in which he expressed disappointment with the work of his marketing team. The legendary Serbian tennis star has been a long-term brand ambassador of the French luxury sports brand Lacoste. The former world number one expressed frustration and highlighted that people do not have an opportunity to buy products from the website.
"I’m not happy with the way my sponsor do my marketing promotion, I’m frustrated,” he said. “In recent years I’ve had dissatisfaction and frustration because many people looking for my products don’t have the possibility to find them in my sponsor’s stores. Some things are changing for the better now, but I am still not satisfied, because everything could be better.”
Djokovic is having a difficult season. He lost the top spot in the ATP rankings after being forced to withdraw from the French Open because of a knee injury, that too just before the start of the quarterfinal against Norway’s Casper Ruud. After that, the Belgrade-born star underwent surgery, which increased doubts about his participation in the mega-event.
However, not only did Djokovic return to the court in time to participate at Wimbledon, but he has managed to produce some impressive performances and has already booked his place in the quarterfinal after beating Denmark’s Holger Rune in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. World number two is set to face Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the last-eight clash. The Sydney-born star defeated France’s Arthur Fils in the round of 16 with a score of 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
