The stars of the ATP will soon travel to South America, with the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil playing host to the 2025 Rio Open from February 17-23, 2025.
An ATP 500 event, the Rio Open is held on the eight clay courts, with Spanish legend Rafael Nadal winning the inaugural edition in 2014. Compatriot Carlos Alcaraz lifted the trophy in 2022, etching his name in history as the youngest ATP 500 champion.
Former World No.2 Alexander Zverev will be the top seed at the event, with the German a favorite to win the title due to his fondness for clay courts. Standing in his way is Danish star Holger, who has shown to be a threat when focused.
Brazilian youngster Joao Fonseca will receive a hero's welcome when he returns to Rio for the ATP 500 event. The 18-year old has been a revelation on tour over the past few weeks, winning the Next Gen ATP title at the end of the 2024 season. Furthermore, Fonseca toppled ninth-seed Andrey Rublev in the first round of this year's Australian Open.
Defending champion Sebastian Baez is also scheduled to compete at the event. Below is the list of entrants.
