Roger Federer,
Rafael Nadal and
Novak Djokovic lifted 63 Grand Slam titles together with each of them winning more than 20 and Marion Bartoli thinks it will be impossible for anyone to ever match that.
After his 2022 US Open triumph and rise to the first spot in the ATP Rankings,
Carlos Alcaraz has been often referred to as the 'future GOAT'. Many predict him not to win 20 but even 30 Grand Slam titles, but 2013 Wimbledon champion, Marion Bartoli sees the situation differently as she thinks it will be almost impossible for anyone to ever do that.
“I think there is absolutely zero chance that anyone ever – not only Carlos Alcaraz – will reach the bar of 20 or more [Grand Slams],” Marion Bartoli told Tennis Majors’ Match Points talk show. “I think what the three guys have been achieving over those years is out of normality and I don’t think anyone can replicate it."
However, the French player didn't forget to praise Carlos Alcaraz's recent success at this year's US Open, but emphasized that beating the record of the Big Three may not be possible for him.
“Carlos’s achievement at the US Open was amazing, but I don’t think it’s realistic to set the bar for him at 20 and over,” said the former Wimbledon champion.
