There is a general consensus that Jannik Sinner has changed the sport of tennis, and renown coach Rick Macci threw his support behind the theory that the Italian is a trailblazer in the sport.
Sinner had a spectacular 2024 season, winning two Grand Slam titles in addition to the year-ending ATP Finals event in Turin. The 23-year old reached at least the quarterfinals in every event he entered, and claimed the World No.1 title for the first time in his career.
With the tennis community eager to see how much more Sinner will evolve in 2025, Macci voiced his opinion on the World No.1's impressive rise. The American coach singled out the improvement in Sinner's forehand, highlighting how much more explosive it had become.
"Sinner has changed tennis with the firepower of his shots and the changes he has made to his forehand. He has a tendency to overdo the inversion of the racket face and now his momentum and thrust when swinging are even more explosive, and he hits the ball so early that he gets the most out of what can be done," wrote Macci on Twitter.
With the Australian Open only a few weeks away, fans are curious to see whether Sinner will be able to defend the title he won at the 2024 edition of the Grand Slam event.
