Nick Kyrgios continues to sit on his soap box when it comes to the ongoing issues surrounding banned substances and positive doping tests which have blighted the sport at two ends of the season.
Iga Swiatek was the latest as she tested positive for the substance TMZ (trimetazidine) with Jannik Sinner who is the current World No.1 testing positive for Clostebol. She is currently serving a one month suspension from the sport with Sinner currently not serving one.
Different fractions see Sinner as either likely to receive a ban or he will continue to get away with the offence. He will likely go on trial at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) post Australian Open.
Prominent Novak Djokovic fan 'Pavvy G' who has long been polarising called for a level playing field and to legalise both Clostebol and TMZ albeit likely sarcastic given his issues with Sinner continuing to play given the offence.
"I would request that the @itia_tennis make Clostebol and Trimetazidine (TMZ) legal for all Tennis players to take in 2025. It's important that ALL Tennis players have a level playing field," he wrote.
Parody or not, Kyrgios later responded saying that he'd rather just not have people cheating and playing while looking themselves in the mirror knowing they haven't doped. "No thanks. How about we just don’t have people cheating - and can look at themselves in the mirror and sleep knowing they’ve accomplished things without no bullshit," he wrote.
He also responded to the same user hitting out against Andy Roddick in his view supporting Swiatek and allowing 'the establishment' to stick together. "It’s just sad at this point. The guy is like a messenger to try and sweep everything under the rug. Haha he definitely took the side of corruption but I mean I’ve had a couple good days in a row," he said.
While Swiatek has said that she hopes to move on from this ordeal, the likelihood is it will be a stain on her copybook so to speak and will blight her going forward.
