Iga Swiatek held a live with skier Mikaela Shiffrin where they talked about many topics and the Polish player joked about her grass tennis.
Swiatek lost her iconic streak last year at
Wimbledon and it's something many saw coming. It's a surface that she has trouble with most and it's likely she never becomes a great grass player. She joked about that in a talk with Shiffrin telling people to watch her in the first week only if they want to see her play.
It's a clear dig about her not expecting to make the second week. Shiffrin wants to come and see Swiatek play which is how the conversation started. Shiffrin said:
“We keep inviting each other and somehow, it’s gonna happen. I think I just need to come to one of your matches. Cause’ I am dying to come anyway."
Swiatek responded:
"If you’re gonna come at one of my tournaments, we are going to host you like a family, so come and you’ll see."
Shiffrin said she wants to see Wimbledon: “I really, really would love to go to Wimbledon. So, that’s my dream,” to which Swiatek replied:
“But for Wimbledon, if you want to watch me, first week only. Cause’ second week it’s possible that I won’t be there anymore. French is more secure, for sure."
