Benoit Paire gave up being likeable a long time ago and the player is pretty open about many things including his commitment to tennis.
Paire recently made headlined when he harshly attacked the ATP for stripping
Wimbledon of their points saying:
"I would like to talk about this tournament in London. I would like to know if the ATP defends the players more or Russia.
When some people had Covid, no competition was canceled, but when we
have three or four Russian athletes, including Daniil Medvedev, we
mobilize against Wimbledon."
He continued by saying:
"I think it's a shame, because the players don't understand this
decision. 99% of the tennis players want to earn points and play the
tournament as before. I'll go there for the cash prize, like I
would in an exhibition tournament. I'm sorry for Russia and the
Russians, but they are the ones causing the problem and the other
players have to pay the price."
