In our Daily Dose of Social Media, we take a look at the moments you may have missed from Sunday 19 May as the Rome Open comes to a close and the French Open preparation begins.
Among those on our Daily Dose today include further footage of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, Emma Raducanu catching strays, Aryna Sabalenka and also Carlos Alcaraz.

Thiem prepares for one last dance

Dominic Thiem will play of Court Suzanne-Lenglen as he will get some semblance of a farewell early next week. But the former US Open champion will have to play qualifying to go any further. The source of some criticism from tennis fans, Thiem was denied the opportunity to obtain a wildcard for his final Roland Garros.
He is a previous two time finalist in Paris and as a result it did not go down well with fans that he wasn't afforded such a courtesy. His draw though was lauded as one that was fairly achievable though. Can he find a way through and get his final send-off.
He shared images of his final stand in Paris with practice prior to his qualifying campaign starting next week. He will need to win a few rounds though before he seals a spot in the draw.

Roland Garros wildcard recipient hits out at top players not playing qualifying

Emma Raducanu deciding against playing qualifying for the 2024 French Open was a main topic of conversation on social media during Sunday. But in an alternative view amid conjecture about wildcards, Sachia Vickery who did benefit from a reciprocal wildcard hit back.
She said that she doesn't get the anger surrounding the wildcards given out to local players and it should be that way. But also that the ex-top players in a nod towards Raducanu usually withdraw from qualifying anyway. Commenters spoke about how those top players also short change the fans by deciding to withdraw as they are expected to be seen at said event all season.
So a nod towards Raducanu seemingly and the way she seems to withdraw from qualifying when she doesn't get a wildcard. Other names such as Halep (couldn't enter due to ranking) and Wozniacki who didn't enter at all were in a similar predicament. Vickery though benefited.
"Are people seriously angry that RG gave all their wildcards to French players at their home slam. Literally the way it should be other slams should take notes on how to support home players . Also ex top players that don’t get a main draw wc usually withdraw from qualifying," she wrote.

From Rome exhilaration to F1 for Sabalenka

Eagle eyed tennis fans who also follow F1 would've seen Aryna Sabalenka on the coverage of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix which was won by Max Verstappen ahead of Lando Norris on Sunday. She was seemingly a guest of Haas. She was spotted with their drivers in Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg.
Taking place in Italy, it is the perfect opportunity for Sabalenka who has had a tough few weeks playing consistently and also battling injury at times to unwind. No doubt, she will make her way to Paris in the coming days in order to start Roland Garros preparation.
But from the exhilaration albeit of losing in the Rome Open final to the fast thrills of F1, it is covering both bases for Sabalenka this weekend.

Alcaraz answers Jabeur's serve challenge

Ons Jabeur posted a superb video of her serve challenge and her skills as she juggled the ball with her feet and served it over the net and Carlos Alcaraz was one of those players who was tagged and asked to do it.
Alcaraz juggled it with his feet and then completed a fierce serve was his racquet before shouting VAMOS at the end of it. The reporter who shared the content said they were reliably informed that it was in.
Will this become a viral trend and who is next to take on the challenge? Stay tuned over the next few days to see if any players take it on before the French Open and answer Jabeur's call.

Further update from Sinner

Jannik Sinner continues to ramp up his preparation for Roland Garros against all odds as the World No.2 or the World No.1 elect makes his case to be right for Roland Garros.
Sinner posted a picture saying 'let's work' with his team and him jumping on court seemingly testing out his suspect hip. The injury that in the view of doctors was bad enough to keep him out of Roland Garros.
But it seemingly hasn't dampened his spirit as he attempts to get ready in Monaco alongside his team including Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi. Will he make it in time to Roland Garros?

Collins shares behind-the-scenes look from Rome

Danielle Collins reached the semi-finals in Rome as her retirement farewell continues to gain steam and momentum. But the popular American shared a different side from her run in Italy.
Collins shared what she gets off to both on and off the court with sightseeing, practice and runs with her coach. The American will be one of the favourites for Roland Garros going into her final campaign.
She will next play over the next week in Strasbourg and it seems her idyllic view of Rome will provide the good tonic for a great few weeks in France.
