A couple of future tennis stars went ahead in Eastbourne with
Jack Draper proving better than Jenson Brooksby 6-2 6-2.
Draper had a dream beginning in Queens taking down Taylor Fritz. He lost his next match against Emil Ruusuvuori but a couple of days later in Eastbourne, he took down another American. It's becoming a habit of Draper to beat Americans on grass this year. It was a rather straightforward much for him as Brooksby once gain proved grass is not that good for him.
The American struggled in a couple of matches on the surface now with another poor performance. Draper took an early lead behind aggressive play and superb movement which Brooksby could not match. He then added another break to cruise to a 6-2 finish. He dropped only two points on his serve and that's how dominant he was.
Things did not change much in the 2nd set as Draper once again proved much better than his opponent. The problem for Brooksby in the entire match was rather weak serving. Draper read the serve very well and he was ready every time. The American was actually better on his 2nd serve and that's just a disaster on grass court. A 6-2 2nd set finish for Draper just proved that.
